Context & role1 / 2

Overview

Fasten Your Seatbelts (FYS) was a first-semester HBO-ICT team project at Hogeschool van Amsterdam. The application helps travellers discover potential travel companions through shared interests. Development took place in 2020–2021.

The team built a multi-page browser application with account registration, interest selection, profile completion, matching, and friend requests. A destination page complements the social workflow with travel images and database-supplied links.

Result

Fasten Your Seatbelts brought several connected features into one team application: onboarding, relational interest matching, profiles, and friend requests. My work on the registration and integration flows developed practical experience with asynchronous JavaScript, database relationships, browser session state, file handling, and coordinating changes across a shared codebase.
