Festivals

An Android festival companion for discovering events, exploring lineups, reserving tickets, and checking cashless wristband balances.

University specialisation capstone

Hogeschool van Amsterdam · 2024

Overview

Festivals brings event discovery, artist lineups, ticket reservations, packing lists, and cashless wristband balances into one Android app. It was built as the capstone project for the Android Mobile Development specialisation at Hogeschool van Amsterdam.

Problem & constraints1 / 1

One companion for the festival day

Tickets, lineups, payments, and packing notes often live in different places. Festivals brings these tasks together, with local storage for personal data when reception is weak.

  • Keep navigation simple across discovery, bookings, and festival preparation.
  • Store favorites and packing notes on the device.
  • Check for duplicate reservations and limit how long cloud requests can wait.

Problem & constraints: One companion for the festival day. 1 of 3.

Result

The project brings the main festival tasks together in a native Android app, with light and dark themes, local storage for personal data, and cloud-backed account and balance features. It combines interface design, data storage, and booking rules in one end-to-end project.
